Average
Costs and Pricing
Th ere
are several factors involved in figuring
the cost of the system you need.
The
most often asked question is: what will it cost?
This is very difficult to
answer directly because there
are so many design variables.
If you buy
the components and do the installation yourself, the components will cost
approximately Php50,000.00 plus to even Php100,000.00, depending on several
factors.
-
The
length of the perimeter,
-
The
number of strands.
-
The
type of wire, whether galvanized iron, aluminum, high tensile steel, or
cable
-
How
many openings or gates you have to build around.
If you have
a "turnkey" installation, it could cost about twice as much than
if you install yourself.
This is the most common circumstance and the average costs will vary
from
Php75,000.00 to Php100,000.00. However, the costs
will always vary, depending
upon the design and components utilized.
Whether
your "secured area" is a 100 square meters or 2 or more hectares you
will need the minimum basic equipment including; a fence
charger, a battery, 2
or more ground rods, and a small battery
charger. The voltage monitor or
high voltage senson is an
optional item that provides increased security and immediate alarm if the the
high voltage wire is cut or shorted.
The
least expensive is 4 or more strands added to the top of a wall or fence that would
have to be climbed over. An existing barbed wire fence would require several
additional strands interspaced between the existing barbed wire strands, so the intruder cannot
gain access through the fence by spreading the barbed stands. The barbed strands
are usually interconnected in several places and grounded to make the high
voltage even more effective.
(1)
hectare is 100 meters square, so the perimeter is 400 meters. If you were
install 8 "charged" strands and interconnect them so you have a single
strand that is looped back and forth, you will have 3,200 meters of
"charged" high voltage wire. (1) "high voltage" charger will charge 10,000 meters of
18 gauge wire to 15,000 meters of 16 gauge wire.
The
high voltage wire is usually 16 or 18 gauge galvanized steel wire (tie wire) and
will cost less than 1 peso per meter. The high voltage strands need to be
supported by insulators, so the number of strands and the perimeter
(length of fence) of the your property will determine the amount of tie wire and
number and type of insulators required.
